This all-through school accepts boarders from the age of nine and, in our opinion, it is well worth considering as an option for your son or daughter. Dollar Academy is recognised as one of the world's leading schools; distinguished by its excellence in pastoral care, co-curricular provision and classroom teaching.

A real gem, this school is easy to reach (just a short flight from London Heathrow, with airport pick-ups arranged for all); it is very highly commended by parents and has a sound reputation amongst the UK's top universities. An outstanding teaching team makes sure that every child achieves his or her best and there are excellent facilities for boarders. This is a successful school filled with happy and very active children.

Facilities
Dollar Academy has three boarding houses, which are beautifully decorated and furnished. Boarders usually share a room with one other, with single bedrooms for sixth formers. Quiet study space and computer suites are provided along with tutor-supervised, compulsory study time. For recreation, boarders have lounge areas, games/tv rooms, a kitchen/dining room and access to acres of sports fields, an on-site gymnasium, swimming pool, all-weather courts, private gardens, art studios and music practice rooms. All meals are cooked and served in the school dining hall and a team of domestic staff care for laundry and cleaning. The Boarding Houses are managed by 'House Parents', who live on-site with their own families and will create a very caring and warm home-from-home environment for your child.

Entry requirements
Entrance is by assessment and places are offered based on performance in entrance test, interview or existing school reports. Applications are being accepted now for entry into every year group. Parents are encouraged to contact the school to discuss the interests and abilities of their child. Scholarships and bursaries are available.
