Millfield Prep's vision has always been to discover and develop the talents and abilities of each child. With world-class facilities, small class sizes and a breadth of subjects on offer, we aim to give every child the maximum opportunity to find their individual strengths and aim for excellence.

Our rigorous academic programme is supported by a strong extracurricular programme in the arts, drama, music and sport, including over 50 extracurricular activities such as dance, skiing and pottery. Pupils take part in individual sports and team games and we compete in regional and national fixtures. Our outstanding facilities include an equestrian centre, an art and design centre, music school, golf course, 25 metre indoor pool, tennis courts and a Learning Development Centre.

Pupils can board from age seven upwards as full, weekly or flexi boarders. Boys and girls live separately in well-appointed houses. The boarding houses foster a genuine family feel with the care and support of their houseparent. Every weekend all boarders have the opportunity to get involved in a wide choice of activities from jet skiing to a trip to the wildlife park.

We embrace pupils from all countries and believe that the rich cultural diversity of over 55 overseas pupils and 20 different nationalities provides a great opportunity for pupils to learn about cultural differences. Many of our international pupils receive specialised English language tuition from the English as an Additional Language department, who provide language support for work in academic subjects.
