Overview
Bournemouth Collegiate School is the first choice 2 to 18 years co-educational independent day and boarding school in the area, situated in a superb location adjacent to the golden beaches of Bournemouth and Poole on the south coast of England.

We are very proud of our forward thinking, ambitious and supportive school, where everyone outperforms, where value is added in every area of school life and pupils grow in self-confidence.

We offer a huge variety of academic experiences and co-curricular opportunities to every student in our exciting and innovative school. We are a school that places students first and develops the potential in the individual.

Curriculum
The BCS curriculum is extensive and broad, it is versatile and tailor made to the individual needs of every student. It aims to develop academic rigour and resilience so every pupil can reach their potential.
All students benefit from extracurricular activities, as we recognise the value this brings in pupils to develop their self-belief, confidence and team work.
The school offers a broad set of opportunities in sport, music and performing arts as well as running a full and rich activities programme. We place a significant amount of emphasis on developing the whole individual and the school day combines excellent teaching and learning with an exciting and inspiring co-curricular programme.

Prep School
The curriculum at the Prep School is broad and balanced and meets the needs and interests of all pupils. Academic subjects are at the core of the curriculum. We want pupils to go on a learning adventure where they will be encouraged to be creative, to be challenged, to experience academic curiosity and to be committed learners.
The curriculum is enhanced by an extensive sports programme where pupils will have the opportunity to try many different sports as well as the chance to excel in a number.

Senior School
We expect all pupils to show a commitment to their learning and each pupil is supported to be the centre of their learning. Our aim is to provide academic excellence across all subjects to facilitate all pupils to reach their potential and gain a place at their first choice university.

Careers support is extensive and starts with the younger years so that subject choices are appropriate and suitable for their academic areas of interest. Pupils are offered an extensive choice at both GCSE and A levels. Many subjects will be set by ability and this allows all pupils to develop academically at their own pace.
Class sizes are small throughout the school and individuals are therefore supported to overcome any academic challenges quickly.

Many pupils every year go on to Russell group universities and close to 100% gain a place at their first choice university.

Boarding
There is a long tradition of boarding at BCS. We currently offer full, weekly and flexi-boarding for 10- 18 year old, boys and girls. Approximately a quarter of the Senior School community boards.

There are two Boarding houses: Lodge House for girls and Davies House for boys. Each has their own common room and kitchen facilities and for mixed socialising we have 'The Den' and a designated games room.

We offer a vibrant, friendly and safe home from home.
BCS aims to provide a stimulating and caring environment in which we respond to the needs of every pupil. We endeavour to develop happy, confident and responsible young people, who are proud of their academic successes and personal achievement and are fully equipped and prepared for the challenges of adult life.

The boarding houses create a secure, stable and positive family atmosphere, which enables all pupils to grow in confidence and independence and allowing each pupil to develop their character, personality and talents within the school and boarding community.
