King Edward's Witley is sited within a 100-acre campus in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Surrey countryside.
The School is approximately ten miles south of Guildford, with Heathrow and Gatwick international airports both within 45 minutes drive. Witley station, is a three-minute walk away and represents an easy 40 minutes train journey into central London.
Founded in 1553 and with established links with the City of London, King Edward's Witley is steeped in history, but combines its traditional strengths with a modern outlook. The School is proud to be one of the first English boarding schools in the area to offer the IB Diploma Programme and in 2014 celebrates ten years of the IB. In those ten years pupils have achieved close to a 100% success rate and King Edward's Witley has evolved to become one of the top IB schools in the country, ranking in the Top 10 of all IB Schools, as acknowledged by an Award from Best Schools UK this year. The School also runs a one year Pre Sixth Form course for overseas students, representing an opportunity to improve English language skills and trial all the IB subjects on offer, allowing for more informed subject choices at the start of the IB Diploma course.
For 2015, King Edward's Witley will also be offering the new A-level course as an alternative to the IB, ensuring pupils have a choice of routes to secure a place at university.
The School offers an exciting and challenging curriculum for all pupils, based upon the "Creativity, Activity and Service" concept of the IB programme. Sport also plays an important role, both traditional and more adventurous, including rock climbing, sailing and scuba diving, while the performing and visual arts also thrive. Facilities King Edward's Witley are second to none and include a brand new state of the art Business and Finance Centre
The School has an excellent reputation for its welcoming community and the provision of high-quality pastoral care.
A British boarding school, where 65% of the pupils are English native speakers, King Edward's Witley also has pupils from over 40 countries around the world.
