Chandlings School

Chandlings is situated in the countryside on the outskirts of Oxford, a few miles north of Abingdon. Set within a beautiful 60 acre site, with lakes, woods and extensive grounds, Chandlings provides the ideal stimulating educational environment. It is a superb school that boasts modern classrooms and extensive facilities including an indoor swimming pool, tennis and netball courts, football, rugby and cricket pitches, a nine-hole golf course, a riding school and two large halls for sport, music and drama.

Chandlings provides a well-balanced curriculum and high academic standards to promote the development of the whole child. Children are given a strong educational foundation through sound teaching methods and challenging work. Small classes ensure good progress, individual attention and support. The aim is to encourage each child to develop a sense of achievement. The school has an inspiring record of scholarships - academic, music, sporting and all rounder awards. The extra-curricular programme of activities is hugely impressive.

The curriculum is enhanced in many ways - through visiting speakers, educational visits, language days, use of the outdoor facilities and focus weeks, yet the school also runs an extensive array of clubs and opportunities. The co-curricular activities extend learning in the classroom, through an enriching programme that enhances body, mind and spirit. The activities range from sporting to musical, creative to academic and some, quite simply, designed for fun and originality. The programme is forever changing in response to the pupils' individual needs and interests. In order to provide greater opportunities the school takes advantage of the expertise of external club operators for activities, such as archery, fencing, rowing or horse-riding.

Chandlings is justifiably proud of its offering both inside and beyond the classroom.
