Sherfield School was founded in 2004 and is one of the leading co-educational all-through day and boarding schools in Hampshire, educating children from 3 months through to Sixth Form. Admissions are rolling throughout the year.

The listed manor house nestles in 76 acres of parkland between Reading and Basingstoke with easy access to motorways, mainline rail, Heathrow and Gatwick airports for international pupils. The purpose-built boarding house offers en-suite rooms and airy, contemporary communal spaces with a wide variety of activities during the week and weekends for boarders to enjoy.

The school teaches the national curriculum of GCSE and A-Levels in small class sizes with a good pupil teacher ratio. Results are impressive; at GCSE, despite the newly reformed qualification system, with reduced coursework and increased academic rigour, 13% of the school’s results were at the top grade of 9 (equivalent to A** in the old GCSE grading system) compared with the national figure of 4%. Overall pupils achieved a 96% pass rate which is 30% above the national figure (source: Of particular note were the 100% pass rates in Mathematics and 96% in English. At A-Level, the school celebrated another year of notable success in Further Maths, where candidates celebrated 100% A*-C, Spanish and PE. In Psychology and German pupils achieved 100% A*- A. A-Level pupils take up scholarships and courses at Universities in the UK, at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities and internationally.

The school motto at Sherfield is 'ad vitam paramus - 'we prepare for life' - summing up the aim for the school community; to educate reliable, honest and responsible young people who are reflective, engaged and dynamic, ready for the challenges of modern life.

Students develop not only their gifts but also their character, enabling them to work both individually and collaboratively, to respect one another, contribute to the life of the school and celebrate their successes together.

A wide range of sports, arts and music programmes are available to pupils via competitive sports and extra-curricular activities. Many of the students have exceptional talent and compete at county, regional, national and international level in their chosen sports. There are a wide variety of art exhibitions, choirs, orchestras and musical groups available throughout the whole school and regular events for the community and parents to enjoy, held both on the school campus and locally.

The school also offers leadership activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Army Cadets.

We will be offering a weekly boarding pickup service from South London collecting on a Monday morning and returning on a Friday evening.
