Danny Grewcock, Director of Sport, Oundle School

With only 7% of the UK population in independent education, elite sports people, explorers and other roles requiring both mental and physical resilience are disproportionately represented. So do independent schools nurture and develop this, or would these people succeed whatever their educational environment?

Danny Grewcock has been Director of Sport at Oundle School since September 2016.  An elite rugby player, he played for England 69 times over a 10 year international career and in 5 tests for the British and Irish Lions on tours in 2001 and 2005.

After retiring from professional rugby, Danny became the Bath Academy Directory – a club for which he had previously made 229 first team appearances.
